After everything that's happened, Porthos feels like his life is getting out of hand. Now that they've accepted d'Artagnan and Constance are really gone, he can occupy himself with the businesses. He gets back to the shelter, goes back to the agency, books a shoot, and makes sure the Captain is cared for and their weapons are fine. He checks in with all his friends, and then there's only his volunteering at the hospital to think about.

For that, though, he hesitates and brings Aramis with him. After everything, he's noticed that Aramis doesn't talk so much about babies anymore, and especially theirs. It scares him, a little, to think of Aramis losing sight of that dream. So instead of leaving it to wither and die away, he hauls Aramis with him to the hospital. After changing into the proper equipment and clothes, they're in the nursery, where his task is just to make sure the babies are held and burped, keeping them company while their parents work through paperwork and other miscellany.

Hoisting one of the newborn boys into his arms to start his task, Porthos gives Aramis a wary look. "They won't bite. Just might shatter your eardrums with their screaming, is all."
