[set to late January]

There's less than a month until Porthos faces down something he never considered a possibility for him. The wedding is weeks away and he's happy. Yes? Yes. He is. There's no doubt how happy he is about it, but there's just the touch of wariness because with Athos' arrival and their last ill-advised adventure, he'd begun to think about things back in Paris and what things had been like there. Inevitably, his mind had turned to Aramis back there and how he hadn't been wed.

How he hadn't kept the same lover for too long. Porthos doesn't have any doubt that he's loved, but it does make him begin to think about the fact that it's been only eight months between them and that's not exactly a long time.

Sat in Tintern Abbey in the middle of the day, he's into his second drink as he thinks about this. He's not even sure why it bothers him so much except maybe he's so used to seeing Aramis with someone new that he doesn't even want to think about him being the new person.

Especially not when it leads him to questions about his own future.
